China's Foreign Currency Reserves Rise to US$316 Billion
at End of March
According to the latest statistics released by the Chinese
government, China's foreign currency reserves have risen
to US$316 billion, registering a rise of 38.8% over the
same period one year ago.
The government said that the rise was largely attributed
to foreign investments in China. This has created pressure
for the Chinese currency, the RMB, to appreciate in value.
