China's Foreign Currency Reserves Rise to US$316 Billion at End of March

According to the latest statistics released by the Chinese government, China's foreign currency reserves have risen to US$316 billion, registering a rise of 38.8% over the same period one year ago.

The government said that the rise was largely attributed to foreign investments in China. This has created pressure for the Chinese currency, the RMB, to appreciate in value.
